What an upflush toilet actually does

A standard toilet drops waste into a drain in the floor and lets gravity carry it away. An upflush toilet discharges out the back into a sealed macerator unit, where stainless blades reduce solids and a pump pushes the result through a 3/4-inch to 1-inch line to your existing sewer stack. Because the discharge line is small and pressurized, it can run up a wall and across a ceiling instead of under a slab.

The numbers that determine whether it works for you

Measure the run from where you want the toilet to your nearest stack, both up and over. If you're inside those numbers, this works.

It handles more than the toilet

The unit accepts additional inlets, so a sink, tub or shower in the same room can drain into it. That's what turns a powder room into a full bathroom without touching the slab.

Built for real use

Elongated bowl on a 17-inch ADA comfort height — easier to stand up from than a standard 15-inch, which matters more than people expect in a basement guest bath. Vitreous china, soft-close lid, built-in check valve to prevent backflow, and a replaceable carbon filter for odor.

Buy the right piece

The Full Kit is toilet plus macerator, which is what most people need. Pump only is for replacing a failed macerator on an existing setup. Toilet only is for when your pump is fine and the bowl isn't.

Installation reality

It plugs into a dedicated outlet — no new drain line, minimal wiring. That said, we recommend a professional set it. It's not that the work is hard; it's that a discharge line pitched wrong is a problem you only discover later.
